A Measured Building Survey is a precise, scaled record of an existing building's walls, floors, ceilings, windows, doors and structural features, produced as CAD drawings using laser scanning technology.
Using Trimble X7 laser scanners — survey-grade equipment meeting strict professional engineering standards — our surveys achieve positional accuracy of ±2mm. This is well within the tolerances required for architectural, planning and construction purposes.
All data is checked and verified before drawings are produced. The result is a clean, layered CAD file your architect can open, trust and begin working from immediately — no return site visits, no guesswork.
Estate agent floor plans and old building records aren't accurate enough for design or planning work. Our surveys are accurate to ±2mm, which is the standard architects and planning authorities require before any serious work can begin.
“Fast, professional and exactly what we needed — highly recommend. The quote came back the same day, the survey was completed within days of instruction, and the PDF drawings were delivered exactly when promised.”
“105 Surveys provided a topographical survey and measured building survey for a development in Lancashire. They returned the survey before the date they promised which was good.”
“Quote was competitive and matched with clear communication from the start. Just left them and my architect to it and Lewis & Chris were in and out in a day.”
“I commissioned 105 Surveys to complete a measured building survey for a single-storey kitchen extension. Excellent service throughout — would not hesitate to recommend.”
“Fast, efficient and professional service — highly recommended.”

105 Surveys' measured building surveys achieve ±2mm accuracy using Trimble X7 laser scanners — survey-grade equipment that meets strict professional engineering standards. Also known as measured surveys or as-built surveys, every scan is verified before drawings are produced.
All of our measured surveys produce deliverables including 2D CAD drawings and registered point cloud models. Our precise survey outputs provide architects, engineers, and construction teams with the instant, reliable data needed to kickstart any project.

Whether you're designing, developing, or maintaining — accurate survey data is the starting point.
Prices and What to Expect
The cost of a measured building survey depends on property size, level of detail, access conditions and the type of drawings required. Most residential surveys start from a day rate of £550 plus VAT, with larger or commercial buildings quoted individually.
Building Size
More rooms and floors mean more time on site and more data to process. A larger property will always cost more than a smaller one.
Detail Required
Basic floor plans are the most cost-effective option. Adding elevations, sections or roof plans increases the price.
Access and Site Conditions
Tight spaces, cluttered rooms or difficult access take longer to scan and will affect the final cost.
Additions
Lofts, basements, outbuildings and topographical surveys are priced separately.
Prices are indicative guides. Final price depends on property size, complexity and drawings required. All quotes are fixed price with no hidden extras.
The quickest way to get a price is to tell us the property address, approximate size and what drawings you need. We'll give you a fixed price with no vague estimates.
